TheSerpentine and the Threadle. Even ifyour judge does not set up these astests in numbered courses, they aregreat skills to work on for the game’sclasses. As always be sure to work on yourlead out skills trying to lead outsomewhere between 3-4. Try to makesure you are not losing the advantageof your lead out by standing flat footedwhile the dog sprints past you causingthem to stop or turn back to look atyou. On both the Serpentine andThreadle work at cueing the turnsearly to improve the dogs’ turns keepsthem tighter while maintaining theirspeed. Do you have separatecommands and body language foreach? Mix it up, doing Serpentinesfirst on some runs the Threadle first onothers. This will keep it fresh for thedog and help them with theirunderstanding of both. Keep yourtraining session happy and short.
